Transpersonal Consciousness
Finally coming together in one book are important
current investigations of transpersonal theory and practice which
use rigorous and efficient approaches, far from the commercial abuse
that has ultimately generated the term "transpersonal."
In Transpersonal Consciousness the reader will encounter
everything from visions of the whole to concrete applications such
as music, passing through topics such as psychotherapy, ontology,
shamanism, the meeting between East and West, among others. It includes
very rich, heterogeneous, and creative contributions, both theoretical
and practical, that offer reflections about tradition and modernity,
new perspectives in psychotherapy, new ecological proposals, meditation
practices, etc. And all of this comes from various fields, including
philosophy, meditation, sexuality, psychology, art and general life
experience.
In Transpersonal Consciousness, one can contrast
the ideas of a pioneer of Gestalt such as Claudio Naranjo, a philosopher
such as Salvador Paniker, a Vipassana meditation teacher such as
Dhiravamsa, a transpersonal psychiatrist such as Stanislav Grof,
and theorists such as Roger Walsh, Frances Vaughan, and John Rowan.
All of these are presented side by side with other eminent researchers
from hispanic-american culture.
Manuel Almendro, prestigious transpersonal
psychologist, has been the editor of these diverse works.
