Training in Holistic Education
The Training in Holistic Education we propose is based on the Holistic Transformation approach, born in ESTEL. Our engine of evolution is the conviction that to improve and / or transform our social environment (family, school, working environment, associations and institutions in which we participate, etc.), we must begin by ourselves, that is, by a personal work that helps us grow and mature as people.
That is why we work for a Holistic Education of the human being that, as explained in the Holistic Transformation tab, of the Who we are, is based on the different levels of the human being, in its polarities and in its two dimensions We take as a reference the natural cycles, such as the four seasons of the year. This Training in Holistic Education accompanies people in their own process of personal transformation. It helps us as adults to have a holistic view of human beings and education, to be more aware, open and innovative, to be able to accompany (teach) children from their being fulfilled.
Characteristics and approach of the Training in Holistic Education
1. Training begins with the self-knowledge of the person who wishes to train.
2. The training is structured so that it contemplates three areas: vivid, didactic and theoretical, in this order.

Living area. It involves working from one’s own experience, observing, understanding and understanding in a holistic way our own development. Self-knowledge is worked vividly through psycho-corporal practices. We believe that getting to know each other completely is the basis to be able to accompany other people.
The living area can be combined with didactics and theoretical.

Didactical area. Experimental practices, initially more focused on their own integral development, are taking a more didactic approach, applying to the new practices the distilled knowledge of the experiences experienced in the previous practices and enriching it with complementary contributions, both by students of the training as of the trainer.

Theoretical area. The two previous areas (experiential and didactic) prepare the person formed by an understanding related to the experience, training it to explain, in an original and unique way, with words the professional practice, both in front of himself and in the students and parents, as well as other professionals.
The didactical and theoretical area are given simultaneously.
3. Education professionals (teachers, teachers, parents) who wish to train in this approach can:
- A: Participate in the Training program in Holistic Transformation, choosing the branch of Education (https://www.estel.es/formacio/). In this case the Training would be done at ESTEL, Center for Personal Growth and School of Integral Studies of Barcelona.
- B: Organize Training in the Center of Education: School, Institute, Home, Civic Center, Association… In this case we can offer a Training adapted to the needs, interests and characteristics of the center, both in relation to contents and practical issues .
Programme
This Holistic Education Training Programme consists of three courses.
First course: Holistic Consciousness: Introduction to the Holistic Approach.
One Saturday per month from October to May, from 10am to 2pm. (32h).
The first year works basically from the living area. We begin by self-knowledge in the holistic approach, based on the personal experience of each participant and from psycho-corporal practices. Emphasis is placed on observation and on being aware of oneself and their own potentialities and limitations. Individual work is combined with the group and it is essential to attend all the sessions.
Second course: Holistic Integration: Going Deeper into the Holistic Approach
One Saturday per month at 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm (64h).
In the second course, we still actively work to develop self-knowledge, but the didactic area and theory behind this approach are already introduced. It is done through practices that each participant prepares, with the advice of the tutor, based on an assumption, and that will be carried out in the group framework of the training. Work is done with the assumption about what is being done, by making complementary contributions, both by the students in training and the trainer, enriching them and contributing to the understanding and learning of all the participants. In this way, knowledge of oneself is built and how to apply it to professional practice in general.
Third course: Application of Holistic Consciousness in the Classroom.
One Saturday per month from October to May, from 10am to 2pm. and from 4pm. to 8pm (64h.).
In this course, you learn to apply the holistic approach to education, through intervention and information gathering practices in the educational environment of the student that is being formed.
The training group is the framework to expose the application of these practices. The student’s strategy and interventions are analyzed holistically in their practices, as well as other possible options for strategy and intervention. This is how the student is building knowledge from practice, and is also building a genuine and coherent professional identity with his personal identity.
Supervision sessions must reach a total of 300 hrs.
Certificate
Participants who have attended 90% of the meetings of the three courses will receive a Certificate confirming that they have completed the Training in Holistic Education.
